Author: Austin Manchester
The Nintendo Switch remakes of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, released to mark the franchise's 30-year anniversary, have been altered to censor any trainer names that contain profanity, replacing the offending words with asterisks or other placeholders. Nintendo unveiled a $69.99 miniature Game Boy Jukebox, a retro-styled device that looks like a tiny Game Boy and plays music and sound effects from the original Pokémon Red and Blue games via 45 collectible cartridges. Each cartridge is labeled with the corresponding in-game scene (e.g., title screen, Cycling Road) and triggers that specific track, but the unit has no headphone jack, so audio is broadcast aloud. The product launches now through PokémonCenter.com as part of the franchise's 30th-anniversary celebration.
