The Great Giana Sisters - C64 Super Mario NES Clone #retrogaming

Super Mario Bros. launched on the NES in 1987. The European home computer market sought a version for the Commodore 64. Nintendo declined to provide an official port.

In response, German developer Rainbow Arts created a clone titled The Great Giana Sisters. The game was released for the Commodore 64 in 1988.

ModernVintageGamer examines how The Great Giana Sisters fit into the broader retrogaming landscape. The series has continued with releases like Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, which includes a director's cut. Viewers can see the gameplay comparison and historical context in the video.
