RESULTS: G2 Turn Themselves Around, Make a Play for Second Place
By Zac Cameron ·
While their recent matches haven't been the most inspiring, G2 have started to turn things around, taking down the Unicorns of Love as they look for second place in the EU LCS.

G2 may have had some troubles the last few weeks, but today they’ve shown that at the very least they’re willing to put in work to improve themselves as they defeat the Unicorns of Love while looking for a second place finish.
The match kicked off with a bang, the Unicorns of Love scoring a very early first blood with a gank on the mid lane. It would take some time before both teams made another move however, with the Unicorns opting to take down a turret while G2 looked to the Rift Herald.
Unicorns were quicker on the draw when it came to Dragons, picking up the first two while G2 struggled to take down turrets. Skirmishes that broke out resulted in more kills for the Unicorns, and when Baron arrived, the Unicorns were able to secure that as well as the next Dragon, while G2 would have to settle for a single turret in reply.
As the power of the first Baron wore off, G2 began to make their move, taking down two members of the Unicorns squad and securing the second Baron buff for themselves. While they were able to use this power to level out the gold difference, the Unicorns were able to secure their fourth Dragon of the game. Both teams would pull back for a time, and when the Baron spawned again, it was the Unicorns who secured it, though the pushing advantage stayed with G2 as they took down an inhibitor to open up the base.
G2 would win the next skirmish, allowing them to take the Elder Dragon away from the Unicorns, and with this extra power began pushing into the UoL base in earnest. A final team fight left the Unicorns wiped from the earth as G2 rushed down their defences to end the game.
