Nintendo Clarifies Switch 2 Game Pricing Changes
Nintendo clarified that the differing prices of Switch 2 games are not a new Nintendo-imposed increase; instead, retail partners set separate MSRPs for physical and digital editions, so costs can vary by store. For example, the digital version of *Yoshi and the Mysterious Book* is $59.99 on the My Nintendo Store while physical pre-orders are $69.99, and similar splits exist for other titles such as *Pokémon Pokopia* and *Mario Kart World*. The clarification comes alongside the Switch 2's new Handheld Boost Mode, which runs games at 1080p in handheld mode but drains the battery faster, and follows reports that Nintendo may reduce console production due to slower US sales.
