DANGEROUS T12Xplus Soldering Iron - Worth the Price?

More Fun Fixing It examines the OSS Team T12 X Plus soldering station in a new video. The unit retails for roughly £32, positioning it as a low-cost option for hobbyists. A soldering iron is a hand tool that supplies heat to melt solder, allowing it to flow into joints between workpieces.

During a teardown, the presenter identified a non-earthed metal case and noted unstable temperature calibration. Performance testing highlighted these safety concerns, suggesting the station may not meet reliable standards. The review raises questions about whether the low price justifies the potential risks.

The findings indicate that the T12 X Plus could present more trouble than its cost implies. Potential buyers are advised to weigh the safety issues against the price advantage. Further evaluation may be needed before adopting the station for regular use.
