RESULTS: Splyce take an early lead over ROCCAT in the first Quarterfinal

With both teams testing the waters for the first best-of-five for the EU LCS, Splyce proved to be the stronger team right now, gaining an early lead in this first Quarterfinal.

Splyce claimed first blood, catching out ROCCAT in the top lane as multiple members converged on the area. ROCCAT attempted to answer back in the bot lane, but Splyce collapsed onto the area and claimed two more kills as ROCCAT attempted to pull back. ROCCAT did eventually get themselves on the board with another attack on the mid lane, before rotating to the bot side to take down the turret there.

A bigger skirmish broke out as ROCCAT attempted to take down the mid lane outer turret, resulting in a kill for both teams. ROCCAT secured the first Dragon of the game, before looking to the top side for the Rift Herald. The teams again clashed over the Rift Herald, trading 1-1 before withdrawing from the area. With Splyce focusing on the bot side for Dragon control, ROCCAT quickly rushed down and secured the Rift Herald before using it to take down the top lane turret. With Splyce pulling back to defend their lanes, ROCCAT use the brief break in action to secure the next Dragon and establish full vision control over the river in preparation for the arrival of Baron.

Splyce attempted to force an engage in the mid lane, but the response of ROCCAT was much quicker than expected, resulting in a 1-1 trade. In the aftermath ROCCAT rotate to secure their third Dragon before both teams again clash around Baron. In an ambush style engage, Splyce manage to catch out three members of ROCCAT, taking them down before moving to secure the Baron buff.

Using the power of the Baron buff, Splyce quickly take down multiple turrets, reducing ROCCATs ability to defend their base effectively. With ROCCAT forced to defend their base from the minion waves, Splyce use the pressure to secure their first Dragon of the game before both teams again look for vision around the Baron area. As a team fight breaks out in the mid lane, Splyce prove far too strong for ROCCAT, taking down the entire team without suffering any casualties of their own.

With ROCCAT gone from the map, Splyce move to secure the Baron and use its power to push in through the bot lane. A final defence by ROCCAT proved inadequate as Splyce broke down their defences and ended the game to give them a 1-0 lead in the series.
