PlayStation says it's not backing down on ending physical disc

Sony reaffirmed its decision to discontinue the production of physical discs for PlayStation games, despite a month-long backlash from fans. Executives said there are no plans to reverse the policy and the shift to digital distribution will proceed as announced.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day set a new North-American preview record with $72 million, surpassing the $60 million Thursday previews of Avengers: Endgame. Variety reports Sony is forecasting a $190-$195 million domestic and $275-$300 million international opening weekend-strong enough to make the film a likely billion-dollar hit, but still shy of Endgame's $357 million U.S. debut and No Way Home's $260 million domestic launch.

GTA Online Players Can Get an Easy Free Million In In-Game Money
Grand Theft Auto Online will grant players a one-time $1,000,000 in-game cash simply for logging in between August 6 and August 12, with the amount credited within 72 hours. The same period also features double GTA$ payouts for the Fleeca and Pacific Standard heists, 2× GTA$ and RP bonuses for Motor Wars, Cayo Perico activities and Superyacht missions, plus steep discounts (up to 60 %) on super-yacht purchases and upgrades. These promotions are part of Rockstar's ongoing August updates to keep GTA Online active while anticipation builds for GTA 6.
