The 1991 NES game Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was developed by Sculptured Software, which had already been prototyping a Robin Hood title before the film's release. After Virgin Interactive rejected the original design, D&D veteran Michael Breault was hired to overhaul the game and align it closely with the movie's script, but the publisher could not secure Kevin Costner's likeness-reportedly because he was uncomfortable appearing in a violent children's game-so the characters were rendered with generic portraits. The final product, later ported to Game Boy by Bits Studios, launched months after the film and received mixed reviews, praised for its faithful story but criticized for dated graphics, difficulty and the lack of a battery-backed save.

JagDoomEX - The Jaguar port gets an improved fan-version that might be worth checking out
JagDoomEX is a fan-made overhaul of the 1994 Atari Jaguar Doom port, led by ChillyWilly and the JagDoomEvolved team. The update revamps the audio system with a music-aware filter that mutes repetitive SFX during music, adds new music and sound fixes, and rewrites the HUD to refresh only changing elements, yielding noticeable performance gains and eliminating a Jaguar-specific popping issue. The project is available as source code and a downloadable build, with optional features such as Spectre mode and 6-button controller support.
