Third Time's A Charm As Data East's RoboCop Comes To Genesis / Mega Drive
Data East's 1988 RoboCop arcade game is being revived for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive by two home-brew teams. Retro Encoder released a visual-only demo but has now abandoned the project to focus on a Sunsoft Batman conversion, while Monster Bath Games (the studio behind Mega Splatterhouse, Deathwish Enforcers and Super Battle Princess Madelyn) has unveiled an early, more complete port that appears to be progressing well. Both efforts highlight the renewed interest in bringing the classic coin-op to modern retro hardware.

Freestyle - A platformer set with in game comics, teased for the Amiga! [UPDATE]
Freestyle - Tales of Itch is an upcoming Commodore Amiga platformer built with the Scorpion Engine that turns 1990s comic characters into a 40-plus-level game featuring hand-drawn graphics and genre-shifting stages. A new demo (the likely final pre-release version) adds extra levels, revised graphics, layout changes, bug fixes, performance tweaks and new music, and the title will be available as ADF, WHDLoad and a Windows-based emulator. The game runs best on an Amiga 500 with at least 1 MB fast RAM (or an Amiga 600 with 2 MB plus 4 MB fast RAM) and follows the absurd plot of a fingerless villain named Cactus forcing the cat Stupid Cat to stop his silverware-bending madness.
