I brought my Commodore 64 to QuakeCon and it was the star of the show #commodore64 #retro #lanparty

thesiliconsiren uploaded a video documenting a demonstration that featured a Commodore 64 at QuakeCon 30. The demo was assembled at the last minute, with assistance from Claude, and the recording captures the hardware in action. The footage shows the system running a self-made demo during the event.

Debugging proved labor-intensive because Claude cannot emulate the Commodore environment, resulting in more than 100 runs and several days of work. The final configuration connects a Commodore 1902 CRT to a C64 Ultimate (Starlight) unit via composite video. The creator notes satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing that everything displayed runs on the real hardware.

The video underscores the continued appeal of retro hardware in contemporary gaming gatherings. By placing a classic C64 at a modern LAN party, the demonstration highlights community interest in blending vintage technology with current events. The presentation reflects broader enthusiasm for the Commodore brand's legacy.
