Star Fox 64 Is Now Running On PSP At 60FPS

Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars) has been successfully modded to run at 60 fps on the PSP, with in-between frames interpolated to smooth the original 30 Hz simulation. The hack works on both actual PSP hardware and the PPSSPP emulator, and was developed over the past four months by modder Daniel Welch. While the underlying simulation remains 30 Hz, the project is still early-stage and expected to improve further.

Zippy Race as an Amiga 500 port by Modern Vintage Gamer [UPDATE]

Modern Vintage Gamer (MVG) has released a fan-made Amiga 500 port of Irem's 1983 arcade title **Zippy Race**, recreating the original's three bike classes, stages, and music (converted to ProTracker) while running at 50/60 fps on any 1 MB Amiga. The game, written in C with some assembly, is offered for free and now includes a 1.1 update that adds three continues, fixes animation bugs, and provides a working WHDLoad version with ADF and LHA images. Credits list MVG (main programming), Estrayk (music/SFX), Ross (NRV compression), Frank Wille (PTPlayer), and Wei Ju Wu (sprite loading).

QUByte Interactive announced the Gaelco Sports Collection, a compilation of five classic Gaelco arcade games-World Rally Championship (1993), World Rally 2 (1995), Touch 'n' Go (1995), Squash (1992) and a fifth unnamed title-all centered on various sportsball concepts. The set revives the high-speed racing of the World Rally titles, a beach-volleyball game, and a notoriously risqué squash game that features partially censored nudity, prompting speculation about a mature rating. The collection is slated for release on PC and consoles later this year.
