The studio's new on-the-fly animation system, explained by co-lead Rob Nelson, retargets movements to fit each unique model, allowing realistic interactions such as fighting, driving and environmental actions. This technical upgrade, enabled by newer console hardware, is intended to make the game's world the largest, deepest, most densely populated and complex Rockstar has ever created.
