The revived service works only with the original Japanese version of the game (which contains the necessary multiplayer codes) but also supports split-screen and offline league modes, highlighting the continued activity of the Dreamcast community nearly three decades after the console's release.

Santa Monica Studio announced that God of War Laufey will feature a new ranged weapon for protagonist Faye-a Serpent's Bow that can fire rapid, charged, explosive and multi-target arrows and be customized with performance-altering scales.
