The company's success sets the stage for major 2027 releases, including *Pokemon Winds and Waves* and new entries in the *Metroid* and *Kirby* series.

Sony is extending the AI-upscaling technology that powers the PS5 Pro's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to standard PS5 consoles with a new Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) mode. Launched today on Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei, QSSR uses a streamlined neural-network architecture from Sony's Project Amethyst with AMD to boost image detail and stability, though Sony notes it remains a step below the Pro's gold-standard PSSR.
