The rumors are true! Vegito Blue is coming to DragonBall FighterZ! We give our first impressions of the fused fighter and see what the FGC has to say about him as well!

For fans of Dragon Ball Super, the three minutes or so that Vegito Blue was on screen ranked among the top moments of the entire series. Seeing Goku and Vegeta combine into one fighter is cool enough as it is, but to have that character harness the divine energy of Super Saiyan Blue (also called Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan) made for an amazing scene, and now he's coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ.

We’ve already seen the Merged Zamasu trailer, and a leaked DLC list said that Vegito Blue would be coming right alongside him, so it was only a matter of time until we saw the Potara-wearing hero show up. Well, fans of the fused champion got their wish over the weekend, and we got a (leaked) trailer of Vegito Blue.

Right off the bat, we’re treated to a number of nods to the animated series. The first scene is a nod to the Dragon Ball Super scene where Goku and Vegeta place the Potara earrings in the damaged future before they battled Merged Zamasu. Once the fusion is complete, we’re treated to a throwback to the very first time we saw Vegito, in the same pose he took right before he fought Super Buu, before activating his Blue form.

We see some more throwbacks to the Super Buu fight, including Vegito’s “Cossack Kicks,” which we then see followed up with a nod to both SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta’s supers, which make sense since Vegito is both of those guys put together. We then see one of the most interesting supers in the game, where Vegito extends his “Vegito Sword” to the top of the screen, then slices it downward. Look familiar? It should:

Yup, Vegito has a Commando Sword similar to Captain Commando's signature move from the Marvel Vs series. Nobody’s sure if this was done on purpose or not, but we can all speculate (or at least pretend) it was. We can also hope that he has a Captain Corridor-esque assist, just to keep the motif going.

Veigot Blue also borrows an aerial throw move from Vegeta Blue, which has been affectionately called a “dunk” by the FGC. He then shows off his Level 3 Super, which is probably the coolest move in the game.

A nod to the smoothest and most confident Kamehameha in Dragon Ball history, flashes of both Goku and Vegeta, and scream of “Final Kamehameha!” make Vegito Blue instantly the most over-the-top and fun-looking character in the game, by far.

The FGC Reacts!

As the trailer made its way around the Internet, members of the FGC were at the ready to give their thoughts on the character. As usual, Maximilian was among the first to respond, creating a video of his reaction to the trailer. Max seemed to be a fan of the series’ nod to Marvel vs. Capcom, again whether intentional or not, and is excited to get his hands on the character as soon as possible:

YouTuber IKevinX assembled all the nods to the manga and anime present in the trailer and compiled them into one, easy to watch video:

Lastly, video game commentator Behrudy was excited to see Vegito Blue and made a video of his own presenting his thoughts:

We still don’t have a release date for either character, but there’s no shortage of excitement for this pair of fused heavenly beings. We’ll just have to wait and see when we can finally get our hands on these two transcendent beings! Interested in jumping into DBFZ?
