Many members of the Fortnite Battle Royale community were excited to see the recently announced Driftboard vehicle, which brings a snowboard and hoverboard mixture to Fortnite, be added into the game on Tuesday, December 18th with the upcoming 7.10 update. However, Epic Games has taken to the official Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit to announce that the release of the Fortnite Driftboard has been delayed.
Fortnite Driftboard Release Delayed
In the announcement of the release of the snowboard and hoverboard vehicle being delayed, Epic Games stated the factors behind the decision that has delayed the addition of the Driftboard beyond the implementation of the 7.10 update tomorrow are a few final quality of life changes and other improvements that are needed to be made before it is added into Fortnite.
The release of the Driftboard has been delayed to focus on quality of life improvements. We’ll update you with more information once this vehicle is ready to drop into the Battle! ???

"Hey folks,
We know we set the expectation for the Driftboard to release in the coming update. Unfortunately, we’ve decided to hold the release of this new vehicle to make some final quality of life changes and other polish improvements," said Epic Games. "We want to get you out there carving up the slopes as soon as possible. However, our goal is to make sure that your experiences on the Driftboard are up to our expectations. We still have tons of quality of life and balance improvements on the way in v7.10."
While many players will likely not be too happy to see that the release of the newly announced vehicle has been delayed, the reasoning behind the delay points to Epic Games making sure that the new vehicle is working properly before it is added into the massively popular battle royale game.
At the time of this writing, Epic Games has not yet stated when players can expect to see the Fortnite Driftboard be released. However, the developer explained that it would provide an update to the community when the new release date for the snowboard and hoverboard hybrid vehicle is ready to be added into the title.
