Meteors Have Started to Fall Through the Sky in Fortnite
By Ford James ·
We're two weeks away from the end of season three, and the meteor has been hanging around in the sky for some time now. Some players theorised that today was the date it would come crashing down, and it definitely looks like we're getting closer.

Fortnite’s infamous meteor has been a sign of impending doom for a while now, and players have spent this time theorising about what it means. Some reckon the meteor is going to obliterate Tilted Towers and a new location called Crispy Crater is going to take its place, while others believe it’s going to destroy the whole island and turn it into a barren landscape which will become the setting for the season four map. Epic have been tight lipped about it though and nothing is certain yet, but strange things have started happening.
In the clip above, you can see Reddit user /u/Plus5Defense using the new replay mode as he follows his character through a previous game, when ahead of him, a bright light shoots through the sky then disappears behind some clouds. Could this be a meteor shower before the big one comes at destroys the map? Time will tell, but that’s not all of the funky shenanigans that have started happening today. During his stream, Ninja has discovered that aiming at the comet will cause a strange sound effect to occur. Check out the clip below to listen for yourself.
There hasn’t been any patch or update today, so it seems unlikely that the meteor will come down today. What’s more likely is this meteor shower will happen for the next two weeks, then at the end of season three the meteor is going to crash land. Whether it will destroy Tilted Towers and create a new place of interest, or completely change the entire map is still to be seen however.
Elsewhere in Fortnite news, the Guided Missile launcher has been placed into the vault for the foreseeable future, meaning it’s unavailable in-game anymore. Somewhat surprising given it was only added very recently, but it shows that Epic is listening to the community after the plethora of complaints they received.
