Golden Guardian Mid Laner Hai Announces Retirement
By Zac Cameron ·
One of the most will liked pro players from the North American League of Legends Championship Series has announced he will be transferring away from the pro-gaming aspect of his career.

Hai "Hai" Du Lam, one of the most popular players in the NA LCS has today announced that he is stepping down from competitive play to focus on streaming and content creation. The beloved former Cloud9 team captain was well known for his in game shot calling and leadership, guiding his former team to multiple regional and international events.
“I'm no longer a part of the Golden Guardians and now I'm looking towards my step in my career. I'm currently interested in pursuing a streaming/content creation/brand ambassador life style at the moment as I have the ability to risk a year or two to attempt to be successful at them.” Stated Hai in a Reddit AMA, “I realize this is hard but I'll be doing my best to stream 40~ hours a week for the time being and focusing on doing games with 5 people to showcase shotcalling and help others with that.”
Despite achieving regional success with Cloud9, the team was never able to make the desired impact on the international stage, and Hai eventually left to pursue careers with other teams. His time on Flyquest and the Golden Guardians also failed to reach domestic success, and the organization decided to change their strategy for the foreseeable future. “(The Golden Guardians) wanted to find a mid laner with a different style of play, someone that could "1v9" or is a giant hard carry. That's not my playstyle, I'm much more of a soft carry where I try to get leads for my teammates and start good fights/initiations. Which isn't the current meta for mid laner, a lot of the strongest champions are back line 1v9 mages (Azir, Cassio, Ryze etc). I wish them the best moving forward!” Explained Hai during his AMA.
