Fortnite Season 4 Week 1: How to Unlock Secret Battle Pass Tier Star

Fortnite season four has brought with it a bunch of map changes and new unlockables, but amidst all the skins, emotes, and sprays, there’s a free battle pass tier that can be found on the ground in the map. But hardly anybody knows about it yet because it isn’t actually mentioned anywhere - not in the patch notes, challenges, or battle pass. There’s a secret way to unlock it, and only the absolute eagle eyed who inspect and analyse every unlockable will figure it out. One of the new additions this season is the Blockbuster battle pass challenges. There’s seven in total, and they require you to complete all of the normal battle pass challenges in one week, then two weeks, then three, all the way up to seven. The reward for doing this each week is a hidden loading screen, which doesn’t seem particularly exciting at all, but if you look very closely, the loading screen has a secret.

As you can see in the header image for the article, the loading screen takes place near the prison in the south east corner of the map, and it features a movie set with a meteorite crash landing into the prison in the background. One of the prison towers - the north western one, to be precise - is visible, and if you look closely, you can make out the very faint outline of a battle pass tier sat atop the tower. Very subtle indeed.

If you head to this location in-game after completing all of the challenges for the week, you can find the treasure right there on top of the guard tower. It’s unconfirmed, but expect to have a hidden secret like this in each of the Blockbuster challenge rewards. It’s also undoubtedly the coolest loading screen so far, so it’s well worth completing the challenges for each week. If you’re struggling with them, we have guides to the two tricky ones here: F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E letters and Tomato Town treasure. Elsewhere in Fortnite news, we’ve got a guide to the brand new map and all the changes it has brought.
