Yet another sad day for Dallas Fuel fans as the team falls prey to a relentless New York squad.

RESULTS: New York Continue To Dominate Dallas with a 4-0 Victory

New York fans will be pleased after another dominating performance in the Overwatch League today. Taking down the Dallas Fuel 4-0 send a clear message to the rest of the teams that New York is still aiming for a top finish in Stage 3. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.

The first map, Temple of Anubis, saw Dallas making their attack first. Despite a strong defence from New York, the Fuel were able to secure the first objective before making their attempt on the second point. The defence from New York really stepped up here, and completely locked Dallas out of the point, forcing them to watch from the sidelines as the clock ran down. The New York assault went much smoother, as they rapidly secured the first objective before using their momentum to attack the second point as well. With the Dallas defence crumbling, New York were able to secure the required percentage of the point and claim victory with over 5 minutes remaining.

The second map, Blizzard World, again saw Dallas struggling to gain ground against the New York defence. Though they were able to secure the objective, Dallas could not advance the Payload to the second point, being knocked back time and again by the New York defensive line. The attack from the Excelsior was much more successful, as they eventually overcame the defence from Dallas to secure the objective. With the payload now moving, New York simply pushed back the Dallas squad, creating space as they reached the required distance to give themselves a 2-0 lead in the series.

The third map, Nepal, started close but didn’t finish that way, as Dallas made their last stand for the series. The first round was extremely close, with Dallas reaching 99% capture before New York could stall out the game long enough to win. The second round was a blow-out by comparison, with New York dominating the map and stopping Dallas from putting anything on the board. With this victory, New York claimed the round, map, and series win in one fell swoop, with a single map left to be played for bragging rights and pride.

The fourth map, Route 66, again saw a dominant performance from the New York Excelsior. Dallas had the first attack, and though they did manage to advance the payload past the first checkpoint, they were unable to go much further as New York stepped up their defence and stopped them before the second point. The attack from New York was brutal in its efficiency, as they advanced the payload across the map to reach the first checkpoint with relative ease. Despite the best efforts of the Dallas squad, they could not stop New York from reaching the required distance, allowing the Excelsior squad to end the game with plenty of time to spare.
