GTL: CliffyB Shuts Down Game Studio After Massive Flops
By Twin Galaxies Editorial Staff ·
Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski suddenly shut down Boss Key Productions, despite just launching a new battle royale title. With the controversy revolving around EA and Microsoft, no game studio is safe.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Boss Key Productions Co-Founder Cliff Bleszinski announced that the developer of Radical Heights would be shutting down. On this episode of Game Talk Live, Host Mandie Roman discusses Bleszinski's closing of the studio and the situation of Radical Heights with an expert panel of guests including Co-founder of IGN Tal Blevins, Dan Hammill aka Greenskull, and CEO of New Blood Interactive Dave Oshry.
The discussion begins with a consideration of how Boss Key Productions came to this unfortunate end, with the troubles of Lawbreakers and the late arrival of Radical Heights. The team discusses where Lawbreakers succeeded and failed, the issues of Bleszinski himself, and what ultimately led to the downfall of the game.
The team also considers Radical Heights in its entirety. As a free-to-play late entry to the battle royale genre, members of the panel nonetheless discuss the merits of the game, mostly in agreement with Bleszinski's own sentiments that it was simply "too little, too late." They also discuss the thought process behind making Radical Heights in the form it was as a form of revenue for Boss Key.
“Everyone I know who played @Radical_Heights thought it had a lot of potential. If they had a lot more time & money, it could have had a foothold btwn @PUBG & @FortniteGame. But…it was too little too late." -@DaveOshry of @TheNewBloods
