Original Story

Well known YouTuber Daniel "KEEMSTAR" Keem is set to host a second edition of his Friday Fortnite Tournament in partnership with UMG. The first edition of the KEEMSTAR Fortnite Battle Royale Tournament saw hundreds of thousands of viewers tune into the streams of the 32 high profile content creators from both YouTube and Twitch to root them on in their quest to claim the first KEEMSTAR Fortnite Tournament championship. Twitch streamers NICKMERCS and SypherPK were the duo who were able to make a losers bracket run to claim the first Friday Fortnite championship and the $5,000 grand prize.

This week will once again see 32 popular content creators from YouTube and Twitch competing in 16 teams of two. Week 2 of the KEEMSTAR Fortnite Tournament will follow the same UMG Fortnite ruleset as last week, which consists of the two teams facing off against each other by playing a squad game. Whichever duo is able to collect the most kills in two games is declared the winner. If the kill totals are tied after two games, a third one will be played to determine the winner. There will be a winners bracket and losers bracket that the players will be able to battle through, so the first loss of the KEEMSTAR Fortnite Tournament does not mean immediate elimination.

The event is set to begin at 4 PM EST. There will be a central stream for the KEEMSTAR Tournament hosted by UMG, which you can find the VOD of the event embedded below.

This week sees many returning competitors from the first edition of the KEEMSTAR tournament, as defending champions NICKMERCS and SypherPK will be playing once again. The KEEMSTAR hosted event will also see the return of 100 Thieves owner Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag, YouTuber Logan Paul, YouTuber KYR SP33DY, a whole host of OpTic Gaming members and others.

KEEMSTAR's second Fortnite Tournament will also be seeing the debut of a few high profile content creators, as Tyler "Ninja" Belvins, Team EnVyUs player KingRichard, Summit1g, Michael "shroud" Grzesiek, Team SoloMid players Daequan and Hamlinz, FaZe Clan player Dennis "Cloakzy" Lepore, Dr.Disrespect, Timthetatman and others will be competing for Fortnite glory today.

The stakes will be even higher than last week, as the second edition of the popular battle royale tournament has seen the grand prize increase from $5,000 to $10,000. With bragging rights and a large chunck of change up for grabs, fans can expect to see their favorite content creators do everything in their power to claim victory.

You can view the full bracket for the second KEEMSTAR Fortnite Tournament that includes Ninja, Myth, Dr.Disrespect, Nadeshot and others on UMG's website. If you are looking to view the tournament from the perspective of a few of the competitors, check out our player streams article.
