Jetpack Limited Timed Item Announced for Fortnite Battle Royale

Today, a new limited time item for Fortnite Battle Royale was revealed in Fortnite's in-game news tab, and it is bringing the previously announced jetpack item to the popular battle royale title for players to finally experience.

The Fortnite jetpack was originally announced in February, but its addition to Fortnite was delayed, as Epic Games found a last minute design issue with the Jetpack and decided that it was best to hold off on adding the it to Fortnite. The hunting rifle was instead added to the battle royale title in the jetpack's place.

At the time of the jetpack's first announcement, Epic games did not specify whether it would be a permanent usable item in Fortnite or a part of a limited timed mode, but with the new in-game news, it looks as though the will indeed be only available for players to use in their quest for victory royales for a specific time period.

Speculation regarding when the jetpack would be making its way into Fortnite began appearing recently, as datamined files of Week 5's challenges pointed to the delayed item being added soon to be used in a challenge that called for players to use a jetpack for 5 battle stars.

No specific date was given by Epic Games regarding when the new jetpack limited time item will be added. However, with the announcement coming the day before the next weekly update for Season 4 of Fortnite, it is likely that players will be able to begin using the new item this week.

The introduction of hop rocks in Season 4 gave players a first taste of engaging in combat while through the air, and now they will be able to take their aerial adventures a step further with the power of a jetpack behind them.
