Finer details like which platform will be supported, when the season will start, and how they’re going to score the tournaments are still unknown. For the latter point, the Solo Showdown limited time mode concluded today and that was based solely on each player’s final placement, but whether the future esports events supported by Epic will feature a different ruleset is yet to be announced.
The current state of Fortnite esports is limited, with Keemstar’s Friday Fortnite tournament with a bunch of popular YouTubers and Twitch streamers competing is the only option for viewers. If you missed that last week, SoaR Thief and Typical Gamer walked away as the victors, defeating TSM’s Daequan and Hamlinz in the final.
Organisations have been preparing for this moment for months now though, with multiple teams being formed already. The most notable of which is TSM who have Myth, Daequan, CaMiLLs and Hamlinz, while record breaker Ninja is under Luminosity, and EnVy have picked up KingRichard to captain their outfit.
In almost simultaneous news, Epic have announced the jetpack limited time mode will be starting in Fortnite this week, and the challenges for week four of the battle pass have been leaked. You can check out Epic’s blog post here.
