RESULTS: Los Angeles Gladiators find dominant victory over the Florida Mayhem
By Zac Cameron ·
Another battle in the Overwatch League saw the Los Angeles Gladiators find victory against the Florida Mayhem once again.

Every battle is an opportunity for success as the teams of the Overwatch League look for early positioning on the ladder. Another showdown between the Los Angeles Gladiators and the Florida Mayhem has resulted in another victory for the Gladiators. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.
The first map, King’s Row, saw LA make their attack first. Brushing past the opposition from Florida, the Gladiators were able to secure the payload and begin advancing it through the streets of London. Florida could do little to stand in their way, as Los Angeles cruised through the course to finish the round with plenty of time to spare. The attack from Florida was not as successful, as though they were able to secure the payload, the defence from LA caused them to lose a lot of time. Progressing through the map, Florida would eventually be stopped after the second checkpoint, blocked off from going any further as the clock ran down.
The second map, Hanamura, was another dominating performance from Los Angeles. The Gladiators attack allowed them to secure the first checkpoint, and their assault on the second checkpoint was just as successful, though they did not have any time remaining. The attack from Florida did not produce the desired results, as they found themselves unable to capture even the first checkpoint, held back by the LA defence as time ran out.
The third map, Lijiang Tower, was a much closer match than the previous battle, with both teams putting up a convincing fight. The first round was secured by Los Angeles, as they kept Florida off the point entirely. The second round went the way of the Mayhem, keeping LA down to just 72% before claiming the victory themselves. The third and final round went back in the Gladiators favour, again claiming the point first and preventing Florida from reaching the area.
The fourth map, Dorado, saw the Gladiators on attack first for the last time. Finding early success against their opponents, the Gladiators were able to advance the payload through the map, ultimately reaching the final checkpoint with minutes to spare as they looked for a clean victory here today. The attack from Florida was much less successful, with the defence from LA proving to be quite troublesome. Florida was able to advance the payload through the first checkpoint, but found themselves blocked from the second by a revitalized LA defence. As the clock ran down, Los Angeles were able to prevent Florida from advancing any further, claiming the victory with a clean 4-0 sweep.
