By Zac Cameron ·
Another close battle between these two excellent teams went all the way to game five, as the Los Angeles Valiant eventually triumphed over the Boston Uprising in the Overwatch League today.

Every clash between these two teams ends up being a must watch event. Today’s contest was no different, as the Los Angeles Valiant eventually triumphed over the Boston Uprising 3-2 to claim victory. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.
The first map, King’s Row, saw the Valiant take their attack first. After swiftly overcoming the defense from Boston, the Valiant were able to secure the first point and begin moving the payload. Though Boston stepped up their defensive measures, it proved too little to stop Los Angeles, as they advanced the payload through the map to reach the end of the course with more than three minutes remaining. The attack from Boston was less successful, as they struggled to secure the first point for some time. When they did manage to capture the point, they found pushing the payload to be an even harder task, as the Valiant redoubled their defensive efforts. In the end, Boston could not push past Los Angeles, and were forced to watch from the sidelines as the clock ran down on their chances of victory.
The second map, Hanamura, was a tough battle for both teams. The first attack from Los Angeles was able to eventually secure the first point, but they found capturing the second point to be an impossibility, with Boston too well prepared in their defense. The attack from Boston was likewise stymied, though they were blocked even earlier than the Valiant were, unable to secure even the first point of the map.
The third map, Oasis, was the turning point for Boston in this back and forth battle. The first round would go to Boston, claiming the point while Los Angeles watched helplessly, trapped at only 96%. The second round went to the Valiant, as they kept Boston on 82% before claiming the round themselves. The final round would go back in Boston’s favor, as they secured the point after a tough battle, with Los Angeles just narrowly avoiding the win at 99%.
The fourth map, Dorado, saw Los Angeles make their attack first. After a tough and protracted battle, the Valiant were able to finally reach the first checkpoint. Reaching the second checkpoint was likewise not out of the question, but it took Los Angeles precious time as Boston stepped up their defense. The Valiant could not reach the third checkpoint as time ran out, with Boston proving to be too strong on this map. The attack from Boston was much more successful, as they advanced the payload through the first two checkpoints with relative ease compared to their opponents. It didn’t take long for Boston to push the payload the required distance as they showcased their dominance on this map, ending the round with minutes to spare.
The fifth and final map, Nepal, was the tipping point for these teams. Los Angeles had the advantage early, claiming the first round despite Boston managing to reach 97% capture. The second round was much less close, as Los Angeles was able to keep Boston down to just 66% when they retook the point, claiming the round, map, and series with a final fight.
