By Nicholas Barth ·

The New York Excelsior is currently top team in the Overwatch League, as the Stage 2 and 3 Champion has been playing at a level that no other team in the Overwatch League has been able to figure out how to match yet. New York currently sits in the top spot in the overall Season 1 rankings with a 30-3 record.
The Excelsior's 30th win against the Seoul Dynasty on Friday night clinched the first seed in the Season 1 Overwatch League playoffs for the New York based team and the $300,000 prize bonus awarded to the team that finishes the regular season in first place.
In addition to the $300,000 that the New York Excelsior secured by finishing in first place for the regular season, New York has won an additional $225,000 worth of prize money throughout the season and are guaranteed to collect at least another $100,000 in the Season 1 playoffs. This points to the New York Excelsior winning at the very minimum of $625,000 in the inaugural season of the league and paints a very clear picture of the dominance that the Excelsior has shown.
