RESULTS: Dallas Fuel Upset Victory Over Philadelphia Fusion
By Zac Cameron ·
What was thought to be a close match turned into a blowout upset as the Dallas Fuel claim a fairly easy victory over the Philadelphia Fusion.

In a surprise upset to close out the day, the Dallas Fuel have managed to defeat the Philadelphia Fusion 3-1 to improve their standings in Stage 4. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.
The first map, King’s Row, saw Dallas make their attack first. After a dominant offensive strategy paid off huge, the Fuel were able to quickly secure the checkpoint and begin moving the payload. Despite the best efforts of the Fusion defence, they were unable to stop Dallas from advancing the payload through the map, to close out the round with plenty of spare time in the bank. The attack from the Fusion was less successful, as facing a stronger than anticipated defence from Dallas. Though the Fusion were able to capture the first checkpoint, they were blocked off from reaching the second just meters away from achieving their goal, forced to watch as the clock ran down on their chances of victory.
The second map, Hanamura, was a similarly dominant performance from Dallas. Swiftly capturing the first checkpoint after wiping the Fusion from the map, Dallas were able to keep the momentum flowing, catching Philadelphia off-guard as they quickly assaulted the second checkpoint, capturing it to end the round with more than six and a half minutes remaining. The attack from the Fusion could not match that pace, as the team seemed stunned by the swiftness of the offensive. Philadelphia could not secure the first checkpoint, watching the time tick down as they remained trapped on the wrong side of the barriers.
The third map, Lijiang Tower, was an opportunity for revenge for Philadelphia. The first round went to the Fusion, as they captured the first point before Dallas could move, and holding it for the duration of the round. The second round was not as bad for Dallas, though they were still only able to claim 69% of the zone before the Fusion recaptured it to claim the round.
The fourth map, Watchpoint: Gibraltar, was a bit of a closer contest between these two teams. Dallas’s first attack was swift, as they advanced the payload through the map to reach the end of the course with plenty of time to spare. The attack from the Fusion was just as successful, though not quite as quick, as they too managed to reach the end of the map and set up an overtime showdown for these teams. With less time in the bank, the Fusion took their attack first, and quickly found themselves blocked off by the strong defensive line from Dallas, unable to reach the first checkpoint. The second attack from Dallas was as swift as it was devastating, ignoring a lot of the Fusion’s defence to advance the payload, before a final team fight broke Philadelphia’s defence once and for all and allowed the Fuel to claim the map and series win.
