Overwatch League Match Recaps Day 2, Week 5, Stage 4

We’re so close to what many would consider the main event, as the number of games left in the Overwatch League grows smaller and smaller. The games from Day 2 of Week 5, Stage 4, showed that some of these teams have really been practicing, while others are content to rest up a little in preparation for the playoffs. Here’s a brief breakdown of the matches.

Houston Outlaws vs Philadelphia Fusion

The first match of the day started strong for the Fusion, dominating Houston on Blizzard World to set a cracking tone for this series. Unfortunately, they could not maintain that momentum through the rest of the series, with Houston turning on the heat in games 2 and 4 to close out the series in a dominating 3-1 fashion.

Florida Mayhem vs London Spitfire

The London Spitfire have managed to take down the Florida Mayhem many times in their inaugural season, but until today they have never managed to sweep them 4-0. Showcasing the skills that led them to become so feared in the competition, London is once again setting themselves up as a team to watch as they aim to finish high in preparation for the season playoffs.

New York Excelsior vs Boston Uprising

Something of a surprise result today as the slumping Boston Uprising managed to pull out the win against rivals New York. A close series that provided multiple thrills throughout the games, Boston look to be turning their recent results around just in time for the season playoffs, a boost that they’ll need if they want to remain in contention for the overall title.

With the second day wrapped up, we’re down to just two more days of regular competition before the Stage 4 playoffs, and then the seasonal playoffs.
