Echo Fox Run Five Melee Bruisers to Shake the NA LCS Up

We’ve seen a few games in the NA LCS now, and unlike the EU LCS, the North American teams seem much more comfortable defaulting back to their more traditional picks. Unlike the rest of the teams however, Echo Fox look to break step and try out something new and fresh, opting to run 5 Melee Champions as they look to take full advantage of the recent changes.

The match started out strong for Echo Fox, as they sent Huni to the bot lane on a champion he’s had a lot of success with, Yasuo. Picking up first blood with a surprising burst of power, Echo Fox has already shown that they seem to have a good grasp on what is required to achieve victory.

The skirmishes between these teams very quickly became bloody, as both teams started to score kills. Though Echo Fox pulled ahead early, Flyquest was able to reel in the lead over time, pulling things back as they sought to gain some breathing space. More fights tended to go the way of Flyquest as they overtook Echo Fox in the kill feed, however the gold differential remained very close as Echo Fox maintained their superior laning skills.

Despite Flyquest remaining ahead on kills for much of the mid game, Echo Fox maintained control of the neutral objectives, picking up two infernal drakes to keep their fighting strength high. Pulling ahead on the gold lead, Echo Fox looked to extend their lead by gaining control of the Baron area. With the fight going well into their favour, Echo Fox was able to gain the Baron buff, regain the kill lead, and extend their gold lead as they rapidly pulled away from their opponents. With their unorthodox picks and superior skill in lane, Echo Fox has once again put the rest of the NA LCS on notice as the team to be wary off in the coming weeks.
