Overwatch League Match Recaps Day 4, Week 5, Stage 4

This is it, the final day of games for both Stage 4, and the regular season in its entirety. Beyond today, the Overwatch League will be entering the playoffs, both for Stage 4, and for their inaugural season. Some teams have come far over the past few months, while others have stumbled here and there. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games from the final day of the regular season.
Philadelphia Fusion vs London Spitfire
The Philly Fusion have really stepped it up the past few games, bringing the heat as they look to prove their strength heading into the off-season. London seemed lacking today, only managing to win the final map after the series was already lost, with the Fusion proving to be too dominant elsewhere in this clash.
Shanghai Dragons vs San Francisco Shock
Well, it’s been a long road, but we’re finally at the last game the Shanghai Dragons will be playing. They have been mockingly called the most consistent team in the Overwatch League, because they consistently fail to win games, however the truth of the matter is very simple. This is a team that has faced possibly more setbacks than any other team in the league, and have managed to put on some very impressive clashes against the top teams of the league. If they want to avoid another winless season, they need to seriously think about their squad’s composition, and what they are willing to change in order to achieve victory. This is not to detract from the San Francisco Shock, who definitely played well today. It’s unfortunate that their victory will likely be overshadowed by the losing streak of their opponents.
Boston Uprising vs Florida Mayhem
Boston is another team that struggled initially, then had a miraculous run, before slumping once again. At least they seem to have broken their recent string of bad plays, pulling out a win today against Florida to show that they won’t be going down without a fight at the very least. This roster has had to overcome some challenges, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll adapt and prepare for the next season’s games.
That’s it for the regular season games. The next time we tune in to watch the Overwatch League will be the Stage 4 playoffs, and after that, the main event kicks off.
