London Spitfire Defeat Los Angeles Valiant to Head to Grand Finals
By Zac Cameron ·
The London Spitfire have made their way through the bracket to book a spot in the Grand Finals of the Overwatch League's inaugural season after defeating the Los Angeles Valiant 3-0.

The first semi-final match of the inaugural season of the Overwatch League has concluded, with the London Spitfire claiming victory over the Los Angeles Valiant in two series. After claiming victory in their first clash earlier in the week, the London Spitfire were eager to close out the deal and book their spot in the Grand Final match. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games.
The first map, Dorado, saw London claim victory after just the first set. Though the Valiant fought hard, London were able to close out their attack with a little time to spare, and the subsequent attack from the Valiant was not capable of breaking through London’s defense. Though they came close, Los Angeles could not seal the deal in the end.
The second map, Oasis, was a pretty clean win for the London Spitfire. The first round went to London 100% to 0% as they swept Los Angeles from the map. The second round was much closer, as Los Angeles managed to accrue 95% during their attack, however London were ultimately able to claim victory in the end to set up match point.
The third map, Eichenwalde, was again a closer battle between these two teams. Both teams managed to push this match into overtime as the Valiant tried desperately to avoid losing everything at this stage. The London Spitfire were on a roll however, as they claimed a fairly easy victory all things considered, booking their spot in the Grand Finals.
With these games now finished, all eyes lie on the showdown between the Philadelphia Fusion and the New York Excelsior to determine who will face off against London for the title of the Overwatch League Inaugural Season Champions.
