OG Claim Victory at The International 2018

It’s been an incredible run for Team OG, fighting their way through the European Qualifiers to secure a place at the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year, TI8. After a long and tough battle through the group stage and playoffs, Team OG have finally claimed their ultimate goal, walking away with the Aegis and over $11,000,000 in prize money. Here’s a brief breakdown of their run.

It was a tough group stage for Team OG, forced to take on some of the toughest teams in the current Dota 2 competitive landscape. Despite facing off against teams such as Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, OG managed to secure a top four finish, earning them a spot in the winner’s bracket for the playoffs.

The playoff stage was where Team OG really began to shine, showcasing their incredible skill at the game as they faced off against the best the world had to offer. Their first opponent was VGJ.Storm, who they managed to take down 2-0 after dominant performances. Their next hurdle was Evil Geniuses once again, a group stage foe. This battle was not as smooth as their previous series, but Team OG managed to pull through with a tough 2-1 victory to secure a spot in the winners bracket final.

In the winners bracket final, Team OG went toe-to-toe with PSG.LGD, another group stage combatant they had faced before. This clash saw Team OG send PSG.LGD to the loser’s bracket after a tough 2-1 victory, before they awaited their next confrontation with the eventual loser’s bracket champion.

The final series of the event, the Grand Finals, saw Team OG take on PSG.LGD yet again, after they climbed their way back out of the loser’s bracket. This series was a tough one, with both teams showcasing their skill and tenacity. Ultimately, Team OG came out ahead 3-2, to claim the Aegis and title as TI8 champions.
