Brawlhalla Patch Notes 3.28: Back To School, Holiday Home Team Colors

By Jesse Collins ·

While we just came off of the Summer skins in Brawlhalla recently, they've brought in the Back To School Home Team skin colors again to educate your opponents as the bell rings.

Brawlhalla Patch Notes 3.28: Back To School, Holiday Home Team Colors

Every Wednesday, Blue Mammoth puts out a new patch 3.28 for the game. Hot off their heels from the recent Summer exclusives, this week brings on the Back to School essentials. This includes a Home Team skin color set for each currently available Legend, new and returning skins, two themed Avatars, and bonuses for logging in.

Here's a quick run down on what's available:

  • Detention Ada – “Being bad feels pretty good, huh?” (Returning)
  • Greased Lightning Koji – “He’s got the chops!” (Returning)
  • First Day Asuri – “Don’t forget your bus number!” (Returning)
  • Kindergarten Kaya – “Missed the bus? Take a mammoth instead.” (New)
  • Gridiron Xull – “The best offense is more offense.” (New)
  • Avatar – Brawlhalla 101 (Returning)
  • Avatar – Oodles of Doodles (Returning)
  • Home Team Colors (Returning)
  • Back to School bonus +250 Gold per login!

The Home Team colors are a black, red, and gold scheme and are the same as were available last year at the end of August. With that being said, that means several Legends never got this color last year because they didn't exist yet. This includes: Sidra, Xull, Kaya, Isaiah, Jiro, Lin Fei, and the recently added Zariel. The event sents September 12, 2018, which will see the skins, colors, and avatars go back into the vault until next year.

Mallhalla also includes the Forbidden Chest arises with exclusive Skins for Bödvar, Brynn, and Cross this week, as well as the Exalted Chest (which has exclusive skins for Gnash, Diana, and Jiro). All of these skins look fantastic with the Back to School color scheme.

In addition, players will see a very school-themed main menu as they log in. It's a nice touch to go with the overall theme.

As for patching of the game, 3.28 makes some changes to animation, controller settings, Twitch linking, and bug fixes.

Animation

  • Updated Cassidy’s Signature animations to have facial expression variety.
  • Removed the angry expression from Axe’s platform animations to showcase the character’s personalities better and to highlight the expression.
  • Optimized the swoosh for Axe’s neutral light to fix performance issues.
  • On the Unarmed’s animations, removed some cases where Skins with animated headpieces would play their falling animation, while the character could travel upward.
  • Fixed a pop that would happen during the “Don’t Leave Me Hangin’” Taunt animation on the mammoth Sidekicks’ arms.

Controller

  • PC players using Nintendo controllers with a diamond face (i.e., not GameCube controllers) will now see the Switch Pro Controller icon in the customize controls screen and Switch Pro Controller icons in the UI.
  • When showing keyboard hotkeys in the UI, prompts will now show the secondary keybind if the primary key is unbound.
  • If a player’s controller or keyboard (on Steam with the “-multikeyboard” launch option or on PS4) disconnects while playing an offline game mode, the game will now automatically pause.

Twitch Linking

  • (PC Only) Twitch account linking UI now visually supports a proper disconnected state.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the “GG” and “Inspect” buttons wouldn’t show up after an online game, if you had played an offline game previously in the same session.

PS4 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a rare crash on PS4 that could occur when a player used a keyboard without also having a controller bound to that same user.
  • Fixed a bug where the PS4 store would run out of textures when doing heavy browsing.
