Tencent and PUBG Corp Are Hosting A PUBG Mobile Tournament
By Zac Cameron ·
The latest tournament is aimed at PUBG Mobile users from around the world and features a prize pool of $600,000.

Tencent and PUBG Corp. are teaming up to create a new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds tournament aimed exclusively at the mobile version of the game. The PUBG Mobile Star Challenge will be a global event with squads from around the world representing six different regions: Europe, North America, South America, Korea and Japan, Asia, and China.
The squads will be competing in regional finals, with the first one set for September 29th to 30th in Kiev. Qualifying teams will eventually face off against each other at the end of the year in a massive tournament in Dubai.
Teams are expected to be comprised of professional players and celebrities from around the world, with extra awards being given for the most popular players / squads. Players are also advised to conform to the strict rules and regulations for the event, that include steep penalties for using any third-party software to assist in gameplay. Players violating said rules may be “treated as hacking. The team will be disqualified and no prizes will be given. The individuals will be banned from competing.”
This is the first step in PUBG Corp.’s plan to expand to a more regional professional league, with indications that they intend to create something similar to Epic Games Fortnite Summer and Fall Skirmish Series. Should the current plans prove to be successful, it seems likely that PUBG will expand beyond NA, EU, Korea, and Asia, to create more regional leagues for players.
