PUBG Is Probably Coming To PS4 In December
By Ford James ·
PUBG PS4 may well be coming before the end of the year if the PS4 game database is anything to go by.

Earlier this year we reported on the PS4 version of PUBG being spotted in the Korean ratings board. Seems like we were correct, as PUBG PS4 has been spotted in the PS4 game database. It’s been a console exclusive on Xbox One for almost a year - December 2017 is when it was introduced to the Xbox One Preview program - so it would make sense to see the PS4 version a year later.
One user over on the PSNProfiles forums made a post explaining that he’s found the game in his PS4 game database. Sony’s servers are seemingly hosting the game image and content ID number for the PSN store already.
Of course, we haven’t had an official announcement from Bluehole, PUBG Corp. or Sony yet so we can’t say this is confirmed, but it’s most likely happening. The December release date seems accurate too as Daniel Ahmad, analyst for Niko Partners, commented on a ResetEra thread confirming the end-of-year release.
PUBG has a bad reputation on Xbox One for being too buggy and clunky, so hopefully a PS4 version of the game means they’ve made some headway fixing the major issues. That coincides with Chang Han Kim, PUBG Corp CEO explaining that they went with Xbox One first due to their Early Access program. Before they could launch the game on PS4, they had to ensure the game was far enough along in development thanks to Sony’s rules.
If PUBG does launch on PS4, the only modern platform it won’t be available on is Nintendo Switch. It’s unlikely we’ll ever see a Switch version given the intensity of the game, but over the summer Epic Games released Fortnite on Switch and Jeff Kaplan has said that a Switch version of Overwatch isn’t impossible so… you never know. In other PUBG news, check out the Suicide Squad skins they’re releasing featuring Harley Quinn and the Joker.
