Froggen Expected To Return To The NALCS With The Golden Guardians

After a long time out of the competitive scene, Henrik "Froggen" Hansen is expected to make his return to the NA LCS with reports suggesting that he will sign with the Golden Guardians for the 2019 season. According to ESPN, the two parties have come to terms on a deal that will see the veteran mid-laner take the starting position for the team as they look to improve on their low results from 2018.

It is likely that Froggen will replace Song “Mickey” Young-min, who was brought in by the Golden Guardians midway through this year’s competitive season. Despite showcasing himself as the best player on the roster this year, Mickey was unable to guide the Golden Guardians to any real success, and his contract did expire earlier this month. The Golden Guardians did hire a new Head Coach, Nick “Inero” Smith, formerly of Echo Fox, who has worked with Froggen before the star left the team, meaning that the player / coach synergy should already be present should Froggen land on the team.

Froggen has not played much competitive League of Legends for the past year, spending most of his time streaming from Los Angeles. Froggen did travel back to the EU earlier this year to compete with Origen in the European Masters tournament, which they won in a dominant fashion. Fans of both the player and the organization will be hoping that Froggen can bring some much-needed success to the team as they look to improve on their poor performance from 2018.
