Origen Make Surprise Mid-Lane Announcement, Signing Froggen for Their Comeback Attempt
By Zac Cameron ·
The former EU LCS powerhouse team has revealed their new mid-laner as they attempt to secure a spot in the new EU LCS.
With Riot Games announcing the changes they will be making to the EU LCS in the future, much speculation has been building over which teams will secure a spot, and which teams will be left behind. A lot of buzz centred around the news that former EU LCS champion and fan favourite Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez might be reviving his organization Origen, as they make moves to secure a place in the EU LCS.
Origen has had an interesting past, with their early performance on arrival surpassing most expectations. Their early success was not something they were able to maintain however, and the rags to riches story quickly fell off the grid as the team lost some of their star players and were relegated out of the EU LCS.
We want to give back everything you did for us.

Previously this past week, Origen has been hinting at a comeback, with the team making several announcements regarding new players signed to the roster. Opening the salvo was the reveal that the roster would feature one of the most famous junglers in League of Legends history, Choi "inSec" In-seok. While this news would have been enough to generate discussion, Origen were quick to follow up with the reveal of their top laner, former G2 Esports champion Ki "Expect" Dae-han. The reveals are still ongoing however, with the latest news being the reveal of their new mid laner, Henrik "Froggen" Hansen. Froggen has been a mainstay in the League of Legends scene since the beginning, as part of the hugely popular CLG Europe squad before making his own way on teams such as Alliance, Elements, and Echo Fox.

With this latest reveal, Origen is starting to look like a very serious team with some very serious players. While nothing is guaranteed at this point, should the Origen squad make it back into the EU LCS, we can be sure to expect some very exciting games.
