Fortnite Patch Notes Adds Team Rumble LTM & Legendary Pump Shotgun In v6.31
By Ford James ·
The latest Fortnite update has arrived and it's introduced a brand new limited time mode called Team Rumble and a legendary Pump Shotgun.

“You know what Fortnite needs? Another shotgun!” said nobody ever. Epic are sticking to their guns though - quite literally - as they’ve added a brand new Pump Shotgun to Fortnite which bears a very strong resemblance to the SPAS-12 in real life. The latest Fortnite patch notes for patch v6.31 explain that the new shotgun is available as an epic variant along with legendary, and it does 105/110 damage respectively. The existing Pump Shotgun - uncommon and rare - has been buffed to make it do 95/100 damage, which means the four types of Pump Shotgun now increase in increments of five, from 95 to 110. You can find the new gun in chests though, which isn’t possible with the existing shotgun.
Last week, we reported on the Pump Shotgun buff that would also be coming as part of this update and now that it’s here, we can confirm the details. “Pump Shotguns will do higher damage in shorter range buckets but damage falls off quicker,” reads Epic’s official post. This essentially means that the closer you are to an enemy, the more damage you’ll do but the damage now decreases much quicker at range. We don’t want any kills resembling the Model 1887 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 now, do we?

Also included in Fortnite v6.31 is a brand new limited time mode! Players have been crying out for a Team Deathmatch mode for months and now it’s finally here in the form of Team Rumble. It features two teams of 20 players each, meaning every match will have less than half the normal number of players. The first team to get 100 kills is the winner and if you die, you’ll respawn after five seconds and retain your inventory. Killing someone will reward you with a random type of ammo along with a small stack of one type of material. You can also only find uncommon weapons or better so you don’t have to worry about being stuck with a rubbish common Tactical Shotgun or something similar.
Those are the two main additions in this patch, but there’s also a number of minor changes. The Double Barrel Shotgun has been removed from floor loot, meaning you can now only find it in chests, supply drops or vending machines. Stink Bombs have been added to supply drops, while there’s been a number of Mounted Turret adjustments including fixing the hit detection on whoever is using the turret. You also can no longer repair it, and the drop rate has been reduced from 1.719% to 0.915%.
By the way, you can also now throw back lit Dynamite. Simply approach it before it explodes and interact with it to pick it back up and return it to sender. Finally, you’re now able to place a marker on the map without opening the map itself. Epic have added a keybind to drop a marker wherever you’re looking in-game. It defaults to left on the D-Pad for anyone using a controller or the middle mouse button on PC.
