Chengdu Hunters Announce Three Players For Their OWL Roster

The Chengdu Hunters, one of the new expansion teams to join the Overwatch League for the 2019 season, have finally begun to reveal some of their roster. Responding to fans online and their calls for more information, the organization tweeted out the first three players of their line-up, Chunting “Kyo” Kong, Li “Garry” Guan, and Xiangyao “Yveltal” Li.

All three players are support mains, so it seems likely that the organization will be grouping their player announcements in such a manner. Garry hails from Lucky Future, Yveltal joins the team from LigGan Esports, and Kyo is formerly of Team CC.

The deadline for the team to sign the league minimum or eight players is December 1st, meaning the organization only has a couple more days to find another five players. It’s probably safe to assume that they already have a complete roster however, and are using the relative downtime between the other organizations and their larger reveals to garner fans online. Earlier in the week the team announced two coaches for the roster, Former Shanghai Dragons and Overwatch World Cup coach Xingrui “Rui” Wang and former Flash Wolves coach Chia-hua “Ray” Chang.

It doesn’t seem that unusual for the Eastern expansion teams to be delaying their roster announcements, with fellow expansion team the Guangzhou Charge only revealing their roster last week. With a few months to go until the Overwatch League kicks off once again, fans will have plenty of time to get to know these new teams and the players that will be competing next season.
