Chengdu Overwatch League Team Reveals Name, Skins and Branding

The Chengdu, China Overwatch League franchise has officially its name to be the Hunters and its logo to be a very formidable looking Panda.
Season 2 of the Overwatch League is set to kick off on February 14th, and many of the eight new Overwatch teams have begun to reveal their official names, team skins, branding and rosters. The latest of the eight new franchises to reveal its official identity is the Chengdu, China franchise, as it was announced on November 10th that the team will be known as the Chengdu Hunters.
The Chengdu Hunters will be represented by a Panda, the official symbol of the region, as their logo.
“The Overwatch League is an international league, and the Chengdu Hunters will not only impress the gaming world with their excellent performance but also will bring to the league more Chinese elements, increasing our diversity,” said Wu Zefeng, General Manager of Game Broadcasting Business, HUYA Inc. “The name, Chengdu Hunters, means bravery, smartness, swiftness, and team work; the name was chosen as a symbol of the team’s dedication to pursuing the honor of the league. Further, we chose the giant panda as the team’s logo because it is the national treasure of China, the symbol of Chengdu, and a symbol of peace and good luck. At the same time, the panda also boasts powerful fighting strength and represents the Chinese spirit of perseverance, and collectively with the team’s name, represents the team’s determination to achieve victory.”

Well known esports organization Royale Never Give Up (RNG) will be working with HUYA Inc. in operating the Hunters and will be looking to see the Hunters to achieve the same level of success that the RNG League of Legends team has seen this past year. The official colors of the Chengdu Hunters represent the colors of the RNG and HUYA in order to symbolize the joining of the two organizations in the esports league for Blizzard Entertainment's first person shooter.
An official roster has not yet been announced by the Chengdu Hunter, while the newly revealed Chinese Overwatch League franchise joins the Atlanta Reign, Toronto Defiant, Guangzhou Charge and Paris Eternal as the five new Overwatch League teams to reveal their official branding. Washington D.C, Vancouver, Canada and Hangzhou, China are the three remaining expansion teams to have not yet revealed their names, skins or branding for Season 2.
