First Fortnite Season 7 Teaser Shows Ice King & Skis

It seems like the rumored Fortnite winter map is true, as Epic has revealed the first of three teasers for Fortnite Season 7. In a tweet posted earlier today, it reads “A bitter ice spreads… 3 days to Season 7.” This comes shortly after eagle-eyed players spotted a castle atop the incoming iceberg, along with lights on inside. Could this crowned ice king be the resident of this mysterious castle?

The most interesting aspect about this new teaser to us is the character skiing in the bottom corner. This almost definitely implies that skiing is going to be a new mechanic in Fortnite. With the caption of “a bitter ice spreads,” this implies that the ice is going to spread and cover the Fortnite map, including all of the mountainous regions. Skis will likely replace trolleys as a means for players to descend mountains quickly, since it can use the same trick mechanic found with all the vehicles in the game. Plus, it will look absolutely badass to ski down a ramp then do a trick in mid-air while dodging bullets like you’re in The Matrix.

Hype surrounding Season 7 hasn’t been as intense as it was for previous seasons, but Epic are sure to have something… epic in store. The character pictured in the teaser is undoubtedly going to be one of the skins available as part of the battle pass, but whether he’ll be available at the start or if he’ll be the tier 100 skin is unconfirmed. We’re just excited to see what the new map contains; could we see the iceberg collide with the map, or perhaps slot in the south-west corner near Flush Factory?
