Live Action PUBG PS4 Trailer Is All Kinds Of Awesome

After being an Xbox One console exclusive for a year, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds - or PUBG for short - is finally coming to the PlayStation 4. It launches tomorrow and there’s undoubtedly plenty of PS4 players who are ecstatic to finally get their hands on one of the most successful games of the last few years. To celebrate the release, Bluehole has released a launch trailer for the PS4 version and it’s nothing short of phenomenal. Check it out below.

It’s directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the man behind Kong: Skull Island and it channels everything about PUBG perfectly. This is his first video game short since he worked on one for Destiny 2, all while juggling his role as the director of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie.

The star-studded line-up doesn’t stop there: Jason Mitchell (Kong: Skull Island & Straight Outta Compton) is the main character, along with Nick Robinson (Kings Of Summer & Jurassic World). All those high octane stunts you saw were co-ordinated by Rob Alonzo (Deadpool & Ghost Protocol) and last but not least, the man behind the camera was Chung-hoon Chung (IT & Oldboy).

This trailer truly is a work of art. If this and the Destiny 2 short are anything to go by, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film will surely be a showstopper. It shows that Jordan Vogt-Roberts knows and understands video games, to be able to represent them in this medium. PUBG is a tense game full of action and crazy scenarios, and this trailer encapsulates that.

Elsewhere in the world of PUBG, PUBG Mobile is teaming up with Capcom and Resident Evil 2 for… something. We’re not sure exactly what yet but it’s likely that zombies from Resident Evil 2 will infest PUBG Mobile for a brand new gamemode.
