Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's New Spirit Event Is A Blast From The Past
By Jason Fanelli ·
Spirits from the NES, Famicom, and Famicon Disk System will feature heavily in Super Smash Bros Ultimate's next major Spirit Event.
The next Spirit event for Super Smash Bros Ultimate has been unveiled, and it looks like the game will be taking us on a trip down memory lane with this new event called “Classics!”
Classics will see increased Spirits from the NES, Famicom, and Famicom Disk System on the Spirit Board from January 3 at 10PM Pacific to January 6 at 10PM Pacific. The official Tweet announcing the event on the Nintendo Versus Twitter account is below:
Get nostalgic with the Super #SmashBrosUltimate Spirits Event “Classics!” Spirits from the NES, Famicom, & Famicom Disk System will be taking over the Spirit Board from 01/03, 10pm – 01/06, 10pm. The featured Spirits in the Tweet include two tough Legend-level Primary Spirits in Sukapon from Joy Mech Fight and Donkey Kong and Lady from the original Donkey Kong. There has been no mention yet if there will be any exclusive Spirits during this event as there were with the previous Mario-themed event.
These themed Spirit events seem to stir a lot of emotions from the fanbase, as some of the reactions to the announcement would attest:

We hope these events continue for the foreseeable future — perhaps with some Persona Spirits to welcome Joker from Persona 5 into the mix — but for now we’re ready for this jaunt down memory lane.
