Pokemon Go Announces January Hatchathon Event, Now With Adventure Sync

Pokémon GO is starting the year off in a big way, announcing a new Hatchathon event focusing on hatching Eggs for big rewards.

From now until January 15, all hatched eggs will award double the normal amounts of Candy and Stardust when hatched. Also, all PokeStops now have a higher chance of giving out 5km and 10km Eggs for hatching, making restocking on Eggs even more lucrative. 

The official Pokémon GO  Twitter account announced the new event with the following Tweet:

This Hatchathon sounds like a great way to stock up on Stardust and Candies, although the latter is more unpredictable since the Pokémon inside the eggs are random. With the new Adventure Sync feature able to track movements without being in the app, Eggs are that much easier to hatch as well. A 10KM egg usually doles out 21 candies for whatever’s inside, meaning now a whopping 42 candies can be had for Pokemon that are typically hard to find in the wild. That’s a lot of Candy to pass up, so get hatching if you need those rare evolutions.
