Streamer and YouTuber Pokimane has responded to a video from top YouTuber PewDiePie regarding her alleged abuse of the YouTube striking system.

Popular Twitch and YouTube content creator Imane "Pokimane" Anys has been at the center of a recent YouTube controversy regarding her allegedly falsely striking against other YouTube channels for copyright claims regarding YouTube videos that were posted using a re-upload of a Twitter argument between Pokimane and Daniel "KEEMSTAR" Keem and footage from her Twitch streams in compilation videos.
This activity from Pokimane was a point of focus in a video from the most subscribed YouTuber in the world in PewDiePie where he called out Pokimane for "copystriking" videos that featured herself when she in turn watches YouTube videos on her stream.
In a recent video uploaded to her YouTube channel titled, Pokimane responded to the claims of false copystriking by PewDiePie. Pokimane stated that while she was able to get the re-upload of her twitter beef with KEEMSTAR taken down because it was not "transformative content"and had done so in order to get over the "petty drama" because the video had been gaining a good amount of traction.
However, Pokimane went on to state that PewDiePie was correct in the fact that her copystriking of the YouTube video only drew more attention to the drama when she was trying to hide all of the drama that was occurring.
"The re-upload of the Twitter beef, wasn't transformative content, so I was able to get it taken down through my MCN. But, PewDie was in the right. Trying to hide all that drama only ended up bringing more attention to it," said Pokimane.
Pokimane also explained that herself and the creator of the video that she had copystriked are now on good terms and that the video in question had been re-uploaded. While she was in her legal right to had the video taken down, the popular personality explained that morally as a content creator she knew that she was in the wrong for copystriking the video in the first place.
Also addressed in the response video by Pokimane was her statements made on stream when she stated that she would get videos taken down from a Twitch compilation channel that included footage from her Twitch stream. These statements were the focus of a YouTube video titles "The Dark Side of Pokimane".
"I want to put it out there that I never knowingly take down a video that is transformative content. I would not take down videos that people have spent time creating commentary for and editing and piecing together. I don;t think that is fair at all," said Pokimane.
"Specifically in that scenario," Pokimane continued. "That guy was making videos that are just re-uploads of my stream, and he was just using really gross or inappropriate titles and clickbait."
With only the claimant of a YouTube copystrike being able to release it and YouTube itself often not intervening in copyright issues, the subject of the abuse of copystriking on the platform, which Pokimane has been accused of being included in, has been a major topic of discussion and will likely continue to be in the future.
