LEC Teams Prepare To Clash In Week 3
By Zac Cameron ·
Now's the time for the teams of the LEC to knuckle down and start taking the competition seriously, as the LEC prepares to kick off week 3 of the Spring Split.
We’ve seen how some of the teams in the LEC have handled the competition so far and suffice it to say some teams need a little more work if they want to be a challenger for the top spot. To be fair, some of the teams have adapted very well to their new rosters and the challenges that come with them. We’ve seen G2 Esports work very well with two world class mid-laners on the same team, and Misfits have proven that they certainly don’t lack synergy with their all-star roster. Whether they can keep that energy going is another thing, however. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the featured match-up for this week, if you only have time to watch a single game.
The match to watch for week 3 of the LEC without a doubt has to be Misfits Gaming taking on Fnatic to close out day 2 of week 3. Misfits have put together a roster that rivals anything we’ve seen in Europe for some time, bar the current G2 Esports team, and while they haven’t won every match so far, the games they have claimed were dominant to say the least. Misfits are certainly going to be contenders for the LEC championship if they can keep this pace going.
On the other hand, Fnatic have struggled mightily since the start of the season. Perhaps a combination of losing their veteran to planer Soaz and star mid laner Caps, or perhaps just a matter of needing more time to practice and prepare for the Spring Split. Either way, Fnatic faces an uphill climb to reach the pinnacle they once were. The best way to start that climb is with a match against a team like Misfits. Taking down Misfits would go a long way to showing up the haters, and letting fans know that the organization has things under control. This match will close out the action on day two, and you can catch it when it kicks off at noon on Saturday.
