LCS Wraps Up Week Two With Some Surprising Results
By Zac Cameron ·
Not every match went as expected for day two of week two in the LCS Spring Split.

Some of the games for this weekends edition of the LCS Spring Split held some very surprising results, as teams that should have won fell short, and teams that were considered weak rose to the occasion. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games from day two of week two in the LCS Spring Split.
Golden Guardians – 100 Thieves
The Golden Guardians are still struggling to find victory in 2019, though as an organization they really aren’t having much fun in League of Legends. Since entering the LCS last year, the team has managed to scrape together a 9-31 record across both the 2018 and 2019 season, not exactly a good look for the team. At least this game gives 100 Thieves their first win of the season, a team that was expected to do quite well yet has failed to deliver so far.
Echo Fox – OpTic Gaming
Echo Fox has picked up their second victory so far of the season, after a dominating victory over OpTic. The majority of this game can be summed up in the Jungle, with Rush’s Kha’Zix proving too strong for Dardoch’s Rengar. Both teams now sit at a 2-2 record overall.
Team Liquid – Clutch Gaming
Another by-the-book victory for Team Liquid as they cement themselves as the top team in North America. It seems that while Clutch Gaming can find victory against other teams in the region, the top dogs are still untouchable for now.
TSM – Flyquest
Both teams entered this match at 2-1, though in the end it was Flyquest who walked away with the victory. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise really, Flyquest has some very solid players on their roster with plenty of experience in the game. It looks like TSM will need to put in a bit more work if they want to avenge their performance from last year.
Cloud9 – CLG
A surprising outcome to close out the day as CLG find victory against Cloud9. Coming mostly from a stellar performance in the top lane from Darshan, CLG were able to turn the tables on their opponents and begin to look like the team they once were, many years ago. Hopefully this kind of performance can keep coming, though I’m sure Cloud9 would prefer to go back to winning their games in the future.
With the matches finished for the weekend, both players and fans alike can rest for a few days, before everything kicks off once again. Hopefully the games will continue to deliver on the action-packed thrills for many more weeks to come.
