LCS Wraps Up Week 4 With Surprising Results

The teams of the LCS have fought hard this weekend, with some very surprising results coming out of the games. While some teams managed to find the wins they sorely needed, others are still struggling to find their place in the landscape. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games that closed out Week 4 of the LCS 2019 Spring Split.

100 Thieves – Echo Fox

Echo Fox managed to find another win today, putting them in the middle of the pack once again. Their victory seems to give more credence to the theory that a more cohesive team will find ways to advance over a so-called “Super Team” almost every time, as 100 Thieves continue to struggle in their games.

Golden Guardians – CLG

The Golden Guardians have picked up their third win of the split, keeping themselves within striking distance of the top teams. This is a nice change of pace for them considering their performance last year, though the team would likely hope to be doing better than simply “not last” by now.

Team Liquid – TSM

A surprising result from this clash as TSM ends Team Liquid’s undefeated streak. You can read our breakdown of the match here.

Clutch Gaming – Flyquest

Flyquest has somewhat broken free from the pack, taking third place for themselves amidst a wave of underperforming teams. They’ll need to fight hard to hold onto this spot if they want to make a name for themselves beyond just creating good out-of-game content.

Cloud9 – OpTic Gaming

Cloud9 find themselves firmly in second place after another win today. This is a spot they’ve somewhat become accustomed to, as they become the gatekeepers of the LCS. that doesn’t mean they can’t take the top spot for themselves in the future, however.
