NFL player CJ Anderson took full advantage of being on the Overwatch League broadcast when he shouted out the Twitch channels of himself and his brother.
Friday, February 22nd was a very eventful day in the world of the Overwatch League with the main highlight being the Shanghai Dragons securing their very first Overwatch League win and ending the longest losing streak in professional sports history. However, one memorable moment that also caught the eyes of fans on February 22nd was the hilarious interview Overwatch League host Malik Forte had with Los Angeles Rams NFL Player CJ Anderson.
CJ Anderson Overwatch League interview
While being interviewed by Malik Forte during the Overwatch League broadcast, CJ Anderson took advantage of being in front of over 100,000 Twitch viewers and decided to hilariously "sellout" and shout out his own Twitch channel along with the Twitch channel of his brother.
"Twitch.tv/cjanderson. Have a lot of fun, play Smash Bros, play Call of Duty. Big Smash Bro guy, so if you want to see me Fox we are gonna catch those hands whoever wants to play against me. But, twitch.tv/cjanderson and also twitch.tv/mrfurly_11," said CJ Anderson during his Overwatch League interview. "You know that's my brother who also is in the building tonight, so we're catching anything, Apex (Legends) or whatever."
The Twitch channel shoutout by CJ Anderson of the Los Angeles Rams is just one of the latest hilarious moments that have occurred with a professional athlete on the popular streaming platform.
This past week saw a clip of Boston Celtics Forward Gordan Hayward be denied by his wife when it came to playing another match of Apex Legends with Guy "Dr DisRespect" Beahm go viral and be featured on ESPN. With this in mind, it would not be surprising to see this particular clip of CJ Anderson also make its way onto a traditional sports network in the near future.
It remains to be seen how effective the advertising strategy of shouting out his own Twitch channel and his brother's channel on the Overwatch League broadcast will be for CJ Anderson, but we can't deny that it was a perfect example of taking advantage of an opportunity given to you.
